toddlers in tiaras.... wtf?

dear valentine,

i only managed to sit through about 15 minutes of this show, so i guess there's the slight possibility that i'm not being a fair critic. but i just about threw up. these crazy a** mom's are having their tiny babies prance around like whores on a street corner.

how nice of these mom's to put their 2-3 year old daughters in sexy clothes and display them so that all those chester child molesters can have a good time. it saves them the trouble of trying to hide their child porn from their wives.

as if young girls in america didn't have enough problems with self esteem and body image to begin with. these moms had the bright idea of indoctrinating their daughters from infancy that to be beautiful requires make up, perfectly styled hair, a tan, and provocative clothes. because no woman could possibly be considered beautiful if she *gasp* just looked the way God made her.

well done mom's, well done. now all you have to do is make sure your girls develop an eating disorder by 15, and get hooked on coke to stay thin by 18, and you'll have achieved a well and truly f*cked up daughter. congratulations.

the pageant mom's freely talk about the process for getting their kids ready for a show. lets see, fake eyelashes... check. fake spray tans.... check. big fake hair extensions.... check. fake teeth because your toddlers real baby teeth are falling out.... check. now some 80's looking hooker make up and we're all set!

srsly? what's the point of having a contest if everything on their bodies is fake? what are you judging, which brand of spray tanner coats the most evenly? its like having a contest to see which pie is best, but all the pies are made of plastic.

a 7 year old on the show actually said this: "i want to be a cheerleader, cause i like to show my belly and thats what they do". what a wonderful moral for her to be learning. a little whore in the making. i think i just shed a tear.

i think we all need something to wash down that sh*t soda, so heres a super awesome photo to take our minds off the destruction of a generation (yes, thats the cutest f*cking marmoset you've ever seen)

LOVE this post!! {and just so you know, i totally played a *bleep* in my head at each appropriate moment, rather than hearing the actual word.}

{yeah, right!}

every time we see a commercial for that show, my daughter {who is 18+} turns to me and says that those little girls completely freak her out. i can't, for the life of me, imagine WHY!??!

This show is EVIL. It could star as the next villian if there is ever another Twilight book.

On the Soup Joel McHale showed a clip of it...a pageant director was explaining the rules of the bathing suit competition...she said that they do not allow bikinis or thongs...because it is hard to look good in those types of suits...that your body has to be great. WHAT?! I was thinking she would say because they are 6 years old!

Those are some of the most scary parents...EVER!

I could not agree more. I also cannot watch that show. I haven't even tried because I know my blood pressure will be dangerously high within moments. I have the same reaction when watching Heidi and Spencer...
You know what's going to happen? One of these little girls IS going to be murdered by some molester freak. It is only THEN that this crap will stop or be modified. That's sad.

That show makes me sick....the sad thing is, I think a lot of women do that to themselves with the tanning, the makeup, the hair extensions. Just watch any realty show out there! I feel sorry for those little girls.

I have never watched this show, but I have seen previews and seen Joel Mcale talk about it on "the soup". It makes me sick! I cannot believe women prance their daughters around like that. Awful!

I was totally going to blog about this today! I watched my first episode last night and thought WTF! These mothers that are so overweight are trying so hard to live through their little girls - its disgusting.

That is the cutest marmoset I've ever seen!!

That is just sick and wrong. What ever happened to letting kids be kids?

WTF with that show is RIGHT, sister!

How could anyone ever, EVER watch that show and decide that they'd also like their daughters to be a part of that world???? I seriously read a post on someone's blog the other day that said exactly that. After watching T&T, she wanted to sign her daughter up to be in pageants. I was seriously MORTIFIED.

We're all f*cked up enough as it is with all the ridiculously rail-thin models, PETA billboards about 'save the whales', etc, etc. Do we really need to subject baby girls to this terrible shit?!

I watched one episode of this with my mom a few weeks ago. She was so amazed/horrified by it that she had to share it with me. And it really did make me feel sick! Like, I really felt like I needed to throw up when it was over. The one I saw had two twin girls competing against each other, and their mom obviously preferred one of them. It was so, SO sad. Never, ever, ever, ever.

honelstly, i've never seen the show, but the idea of it is completely bizarre to me. i think the thing that is most effed up about the situation is that the crazy ass moms don't realize that the rest of america thins they are complete assholes. don't you think they probably have their whole family gathered round the tv for their big prime time debut? the whole thing is twisted.

For reals, I've never been happier that I don't have satellite. Honestly that is just so wrong on so many levels.

However that is a cute little critter.

In the first before/after shots, the little girl went from looking 10 to 35.

As a mom of a 3 year old girl, this made me feel physically ill. What is wrong with people? Hey, have you seen the movie Bruno? It is really shocking and not for the faint of heart but there is a part where moms are auditioning their toddlers and... well, you have to see that bit. warning. its graphic!

Outrageous! Honestly, looking at the before and after pictures, I think those little girls actually look genuinely happy in the before pictures, and the after pictures look like they are in a lot of pain and about to start crying. Which is probably the case. What a terrible sad thing to do to the children, and then to complain when their daughters come home pregnant at the age of 13. Yup, that is the way to raise a happy child.

I love the monkey! The little girls? I have a name for ya: Jon Benet Ramsey. Ring a bell? Sheesh people.

That is really sad. How do we expect girls to develop a positive body image if they're constantly being told they have to dress sexy, wear makeup, etc. to look beautiful?

I could not agree more! Well done! I respect mothers but I'm sorry they can be so stupid and blind sometimes.

"what's the point of having a contest if everything on their bodies is fake?"

AGREED! do the pageant thing but make those kiddlets be all natural.

my mom put me in a pageant when i was 5. all the girls looked like the ones you have pictures. i had my own hair, no tan, and a dress from my closet. i told jokes as my talent and i forgot my name on stage! it was my first and last pageant. thankfully my mama knew this tree climbing tom boy was not cut out for the runway!!
